Logbook, 1795-1796.

The logbook contains the records of one voyage by the brigantine Polly between Philadelphia and Hamburg and another between Philadelphia and Bremen in 1795 and 1796. The entries were made on paper of varying size and sewn together out of order (1 Aug. 1795-16 Feb. 1796, 12 May-21 Aug. 1796, 23 Aug.-15 Oct. 1796, 22 Feb.-11 May 1796) with sailing twine in a cover of sailcloth. Entries include information on weather, latitude, crew members, and the ship's course.
